Notice to all Customers:

Broadview books remain available for sale throughout the United States, Canada, and the rest of the world. The United States administration’s removal of the de minimis exemption (a policy that previously limited customs border paperwork for small shipments) has caused significant processing slowdowns at the Canada-US border. This is not an issue that is unique to Broadview, but we understand that the resulting delays in our books arriving are in some cases quite disruptive at the start of term. We apologise and ask for your patience as things are sorted out by our customs broker and by the shipping companies we use (notably, FedEx, UPS, and the postal service). We continue to ship all orders within a day or two, and are actively tracking what services are moving most quickly so that we can pivot as appropriate.

In case of orders, desk copies, or examination copies with an urgent deadline, please contact our Customer Service Department (customerservice@broadviewpress.com), and Ross and Lisa will do their best to assist you.

Notice to Bookstores:

Broadview’s titles are CUSMA/USMCA compliant, and tariff-exempt. Since the removal of the de minimis exemption, we have heard that some stores shipping on their own accounts or with their own customs brokers have been charged tariffs despite our books being exempt. If this is a concern for you or may impact your ability to stock Broadview titles, please be in touch; we may be able to find a workable solution. Certainly, we’re willing to try!

If your bookstore has wrongly been assessed tariffs on a Broadview order, we recommend submitting a dispute with your courier; please let us know if you require further information from us to do so.

For information regarding specific orders, please contact Ross and Lisa in Customer Service (customerservice@broadviewpress.com). For further information regarding the status of Broadview books under CUSMA/USMCA and under IEEPA (the International Emergency Economic Powers Act), please contact our President, Stephen Latta, and/or our Vice President, Sales and Distribution, Christine Handley (latta@broadviewpress.com, handley@broadviewpress.com). Thank you for your patience and perseverance!
